Marcell Felipe
Marcell Felipe's international experience has ranged from representing governments and heads of state to privatizing state-owned companies. He has been involved in structuring and providing tax advice on international transactions in several different industries, including energy, telecom, hotel and real estate. He has also represented companies in significant international business disputes, including two nine-figure arbitration disputes.
Mr. Felipe received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he served as Business Manager for the University of Pittsburgh Law Review and the Journal of Law and Commerce. He also completed Harvard Law School's Program of Instruction for Lawyers and served a federal court internship with the Hon. W. Standish, of The US District Court for Western Pennsylvania.
Mr. Felipe is a member of the the Florida Bar's Tax Section. In the past, he has served as a member of the Oxford Club's Wealth Advisory Panel and the Sovereign Society's Council of Experts. He has authored numerous magazine articles on International tax and one book published by the Sunday Times of London for UK investors buying property in the U.S.
Mr. Felipe has been involved in multiple non-profit organizations. Currently, Mr. Felipe serves on the board of Miami-Dade County's Housing Finance Authority. In the past, he has served on the board of organizations dedicated to providing medical and financial assistance to impoverished communities in Latin America.
From 1999-2001, Mr. Felipe served as the youngest member of the board of directors of the Cuban American National Foundation (CANF). In 2001, Mr. Felipe, and other CANF leaders, including some of its founders, left CANF to form the Cuban Liberty Council, an organization which he later served as its Executive Director. Mr. Felipe, as other CLC leaders, is a also a strong advocate of the work of The US-Cuba Democracy PAC, the largest, and most effective, single-issue foreign policy PAC in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Felipe has native fluency in Spanish and English.
